They had a surf/punk sound. I last heard Craig was the writer of the Inspector Gadget theme but I'm not sure this is true.[Joe Coste] The LP is a strange, varied pop/wave record, with a couple of inexplicable surf references, as these guys were nowhere near the ocean. The best tracks are Modern Boys (power pop) and if you like keyboards, Businessman's Bounce (hard-wave). The single has a pretty solid powerpop number on the A-side which is hurt somewhat by a slow breakdown in the middle of the song, backed with a better sounding version of Islands, also a good powerpop track that made it on to the LP. Web searches seem to indicate that he produced, not wrote, the Inspector Gadget song.[JF] looking for a label The Blame Lancaster - Elevator Shoes / Little Girls In Hollywood 7" ASP ASM725/6, 1980 NS? Elevator Shoes is five minutes of lame whitey reggae with guitar solos. The only member of the band I can remember by name was "Guy Debris" (pronounced GHEE DEBREE). I remember this only because I auditioned to be their lead singer in 1981, but was deemed too "rock" for their new-wave/post-2nd-invasion sensibilities.[Jonathan Lowry] blame Blue Collar - She Sings / First Snows 7" TMI 2, 1981 PS Blue Ice Harrisburg - Power Play / I Had Too Much To Dream Last Night 7" Cracked 13, 1977 PS blue ice Carsickness Pittsburgh - When / Me And My Cruiser // Bill Wilkinson / Police Dog 7" TMI 1, 1980 PS - Happy Workers / Plastic People 7" TMI 003, 1981 - For You / They Came Crawling 7" TMI 0011, 1982 PS - Shooting Above The Garbage LP TMI 004, 1981 - Sharpen Up For Duty LP TMI 13, 1982 for you - 2nd edition b&w ps sharpen up for duty The Clap Catasauqua (Allentown) - Don't Say No / Killed By Kindness 7" Strain CUP-601, 1982 PS - VD's No Laughing Matter 7" Strain SR002, 1982 PS (VD's No Laughing Matter / Don't Say No / I'm So Bored With Your Mother / Killed By Kindness) don't say no vd Crowd - Down And Out // Heat / Never Seen 7" China & Co. I say "no good" due to electric violin leads and annoyingly overwrought female vocals.[JF] Minor Threat - Filler 7" Dischord 3, 1981 PS (Filler / I Don't Wanna Hear It / Seeing Red / Straight Edge / Small Man/Big Mouth / Screaming At A Wall / Bottled Violence / Minor Threat) - In My Eyes 7" Dischord 5, 1981 PS (Out Of Step / Guilty Of Being White / Stepping Stone / In My Eyes) - Out Of Step 12" Dischord 10, 1983 (Betray / It Follows / Think Again / Look Back & Laugh // Sob Story / No Reason / Little Friend / Out Of Step) - Salad Days 7" Dischord 15, 1985/83 PS (Salad Days // Sometimes Good Guys Don't Wear White / Stumped) - First Demo Tape 7" Dischord DIS140V, 2003/1981 PS (Minor Threat / Stand Up / Seeing Red / Bottled Violence // Small Man, Big Mouth / Straight Edge / Guilty Of Being White / I Don't Want To Hear It) filler 1st filler 2nd filler 3rd filler 4th in my eyes salad days first demo tape No Trend Ashton MD - Mass Sterilization Caused By Venereal Disease / Cancer // Teen Love 7" No Trend 10-3-7SH-3908, 1983 PS - Too Many Humans 12" No Trend 002, 1983 Perhaps the most hated band on the DC hardcore scene, No Trend played slow, sloppy, and interminably -- like Flipper, but with less utter cacophony and more screaming. Both records are, regardless, great and interesting, and show that the band knew just what they were doing.[GMcN] teen love Nurses - Hearts / Cardiac Arrest 7" Round Raoul 7-45-05, 1979 PS Limp 034, 1981 NS - I Will Follow You / Love You Again 7" Teen-A-Toons TAT-1, 1980 PS - Running Around / Tina's Smile 7" Limp 011, 1981 HS - DYF / Bad Mood 7" Dacoit 008, 1983 PS - Extant 5x7" boxed set Dacoit 009, 1983 The Limp Records pressing of the first single was a remastered version, but never made it past the test pressing stage. It is listed here because a good number of them were made. Running Around exists only as a test pressing or plain white label, many intended for the boxed set, but some in a picture sleeve. The Extant box contains sleeveless copies of all the above plus the Reind Dears 45. It has the test pressing of the Limp version of the first single. A charging teenage shambles that would become focused when Minor Threat emerged from the rubble of the band. By the time this EP was out, that had already happened: Minor Disturbance is posthumous.
